Episode 82
In the previous episode, I promised you a detailed guide to passing AWS Developer and Architect certifications, but there is something I wanted to share with you first. How To Train Your Java was recently invited to be a media patron of JDD conference – a Java event that is going to take place October 3-4 in Kraków, Poland. Today we are going to check what is to be expected there. If you would like to attend, there will be an opportunity to get a discount on tickets or even get one free. Keep calm and read on.
JDD is a two-day conference, which is developed in cooperation with leading Java specialists in Poland. This year more than one thousand professionals will meet at EXPO Kraków conference center to participate in presentations and workshops prepared by experts.
The high level of content is not the only value of the conference. JDD is a community-driven event, giving you a guarantee of the latest subjects, a thorough and comprehensive look at the issues, and a unique atmosphere that fosters knowledge acquisition and making contacts within the industry.
Young blood on IT stage
Sometimes looking at the problem from a completely different perspective can also be useful to experienced professionals, and can greatly improve the work of many programmers. Habits don’t make it any easier, so it’s worth to open up to other people’s ideas. Where to find a good dose of energy and great new solutions? There will be plenty of them during the presentations of speakers that debut on JDD stage!
The contest for the best speaker, who has never before spoken on JDD, is especially for them. Knowledge, work experience and skills are not the only things that count – it’s all about the commitment to the local Java community.
The candidates are active members of Polish Java User Groups, and so far have performed exclusively during local meetings. They have a lot of valuable information to share, although their names are still little known to the public. This will change soon! JDD can be the beginning of a successful speaker’s career.
The first speakers can already be found on the JDD website. Already confirmed topics include Apache Spark, REST, Event Sourcing and Kotlin. It’s the audience that decides who will receive the JUGmajster title and the chance to perform during 4Developers Festival.
More details about the event can be found here: https://17.jdd.org.pl
Can I Has the Ticket?
Yes, you can – cheaper, or even for free. Firstly, each one of you, my dear readers, is entitled to 15% discount. All you need to do is to use a promotional code trainyourjava when registering for the event at https://jdd2017.evenea.pl. Secondly, I got one free ticket to give away (in other words a 100% discount promotional code). All you need to do to get a chance to win the lottery is:
- Subscribe this blog, if you haven’t done this already. I will not sell your email to Russian mobsters or send shitty spam, just notifications about new articles on How To Train Your Java.
- Share this article on Facebook and / or Twitter and / or Linkedin. Each one is worth one shot at the lottery, so go for all three to triple your chances to win.
- Send me an email (pzajaczkowski at gmail dot com) containing links to your social media shares. Use the same address as your blog subscription.
Sounds good? Current ticket price hovers around 170 EUR, so there are some savings at stake. In addition, the winner gets a beer upon finding me live at the event. The deadline is Wednesday 27th, 11 PM CET. I will notify the winner via email no later than 24 hours after the deadline.
In the next episode, I will give you promised tips on how to get mentioned AWS certifications. The one after that will most likely be a conference story. Perhaps in two parts, we will see about that. Stay tuned and see you in person in Kraków maybe?
